Our employability program provides participants with life skills and employment training needed to gain and maintain employment. We focus on interpersonal skills and gravitate towards employability skills training once they have completed the personal development aspect of the program. We have established relationships with Metropolitan Community College and Urban League Nebraska. Through these partnerships we are able to streamline the employment process.
The college provides testing to assess where the participants are academically. They then focus on providing specific training and tutoring to prepare participants for employment testing. Metro tutors work vigorously to get participants skilled in math and other areas.
The Urban League of Nebraska works with program participants in résumé writing assistance, online job search and employer referrals. Many participants are directly connected with employers who work with Urban League to find employees.
